NYFW Hair Trend Report – Curls on the Catwalk

New York Fashion Week has come to a close, and wow, we’ve seen some gorgeous curls on the catwalk… Son Jung Wan’s 2020 Spring/Summer Collection saw an array of different curls commanding the runway, where New York based hair stylist Jorge Luis proved curls can suit everyone, from blondes to brunettes. Paired with the stunning runway looks, curls were the most accessible accessory for the season.

Curls featured heavily in Laurence and Chico’s ‘Love and Label’ show, where Oribe director Kien Hoang created envious waves for both the male and female models, complementing the voluminous silhouettes with fluffy, beautiful curls inspired by Carrie Bradshaw. Hoang worked his magic to pair curls and accessories such as chunky earrings and large hats, highlighting that more is definitely more.

We also saw Mark Gong introduce loose waves on both male and female models in his Spring/Summer project, the Gokotta Look. Beach wave curls can really bring an understated look to life, and Gong’s runway turned heads by offering an alternative way play with your curls. Stay tuned to see what London Fashion Week brings…
