Hazel Gardiner is an East London based floral artist, teacher, content creator and gardener. After surviving a rare cancer diagnosis in 2007, she decided to change her career from television production to vintage retail and events as well as her perspective on her natural curls.
“Prior to losing my hair due to radiotherapy, I had never strayed from chemically relaxing my hair and hadn’t seen my curls in their natural state since I was 13. I had also had long straight extensions for the first time right before diagnosis. I shaved my head when loss started to happen which gave me some control back. I then thought it was the perfect opportunity to go back to my natural curls..no need to transition!”
Since then she has fully embraced her curls!
